Private Wealth Associate | Legal 500
Location: Central London - hybrid
Salary: £85,000-£100,000
Experience: 5PQE+
OVERVIEW
Join a reputable Legal 500 firm with a highly regarded Private Wealth team, known for sophisticated, often cross-border work for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices and trustees.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Private Wealth Solicitor to take on a high-calibre caseload with a strong international dimension. You will advise on succession and estate planning, trusts, UK and international tax planning, and complex estate administration, often working with clients who have assets, residences or family members across several jurisdictions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing a varied caseload of private wealth matters, including wills, trusts, succession and estate planning, LPAs, and complex probate and estate administration.
- Advising UHNW and HNW individuals, families, family offices and trustees on cross-border matters, including multi-jurisdictional estates, offshore trusts, residence and domicile issues, and the UK's residence-based tax regime.
- Structuring and advising on UK and offshore trusts, including establishment, restructuring and ongoing trustee advice.
- Advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax planning for clients with international connections, including pre-arrival and pre-departure planning.
- Working with overseas lawyers, accountants, private banks and wealth managers to deliver coordinated advice across jurisdictions.
- Building strong relationships with clients, intermediaries and professional advisers.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
- Contributing to business development, networking and the continued growth of the department, both in the UK and internationally.

ABOUT YOU
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ PQE in private client or private wealth work, ideally gained at a leading firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of trusts, succession planning, estate administration and UK personal taxation.
- Experience advising on cross-border matters, such as international estates, offshore structures, or clients with multi-jurisdictional assets and residence.
- Familiarity with the post-April 2025 residence-based regime and its impact on internationally mobile clients is highly desirable.
- STEP qualification (or working towards it) desirable. Language skills are a plus.
- Excellent client care, drafting and communication skills, with the confidence to handle sophisticated clients.
- A collaborative approach and an interest in developing your career, with a clear route towards partnership.
