We are currently looking for a Pro Groundcare Service Technician to support and join the existing team at our Head Office in Ulting, Maldon, Essex.

Reporting to the Service Development Manager, you will diagnose faults, repair, service and maintain professional groundcare, horticultural and related machinery. Using diagnostic tools, you will identify and resolve issues, replace parts to manufacturer specifications, and complete work to a high standard at the branch or on customer sites.

Key Duties Will Include

  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, service and maintain a range of professional groundcare, horticultural and related machinery.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults accurately, including interpreting fault code data and machine software.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines and related mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Identify and replace faulty parts and components in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance work to a high standard at the branch and on customer sites, resolving issues first time where possible.
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time, including digital reports detailing equipment condition, repair history and maintenance recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager, Service Advisors and customers, providing clear updates on repair progress, equipment status and any delays or issues.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines and use the correct PPE at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced, time-served Service Engineer with a proven track record working on modern groundcare, agricultural and/or construction machinery.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to analyse symptoms and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Experience troubleshooting modern electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines and machine software using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, IT and reporting skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure, think on your feet and use initiative to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Experience working on groundcare machinery is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Additional Information

  • Start Date: Subject to candidates notice period
  • Hours: 39hrs per week - 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday (1-hr unpaid lunch) Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39hrs.
  • Salary: Competitive, depending on experience plus company van and company mobile phone
  • Benefits: 32 days annual leave including bank holidays, Company Van, Company Sick Pay Scheme, Workplace Pension, Employee Referral Bonus Scheme, Winter Flu Jab Service, Car Tyre Discount, Staff Discount in Country Stores and Death in Service Cover (2 x salary).
