The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Innovation)

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Innovation) is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enabling entrepreneurial activity across the University to deliver Cambridge's innovation agenda. As a member of the University's senior leadership team, you will oversee the infrastructure, policies and resources that support members of the University to translate and commercialise their discoveries and will build on Cambridge's position as a global hub for discovery and enterprise. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor will be supported by the Office of Research and Innovation.

The successful candidate will be a recognised leader in the academic and innovation communities, with a strong academic background (including a PhD) and an outstanding personal track record. The successful individual will have experience of building and leading academic-industry partnerships and collaborations, working effectively with professional services colleagues to deliver institutional priorities, and achieving outcomes that create measurable value for institutions, partners and society. An inclusive leadership style, strong collaborative skills, and the ability to inspire, motivate and align colleagues around a shared vision will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the infrastructure, policies, and resources that support members of the University to translate and commercialise their discoveries.
  • Build on Cambridge's position as a global hub for discovery and enterprise.
  • Support the Office of Research and Innovation.

Requirements

  • Recognised leader in the academic and innovation communities.
  • Strong academic background, including a PhD.
  • Experience of building and leading academic-industry partnerships and collaborations.
  • Ability to work effectively with professional services colleagues to deliver institutional priorities.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes that create measurable value for institutions, partners, and society.
