The School of Law and Justice Studies
The School of Law and Justice Studies within the Faculty of Society and Culture is looking to appoint an Academic Programme Tutor on a permanent basis, to support the delivery of the Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Programme.
Role Responsibilities
As an Academic Programme Tutor, you will be required to:
- Contribute to the academic delivery and assessment of this professional programme.
- Develop high-quality teaching, learning and assessment materials.
- Support and coach probation colleagues on their apprenticeship.
- Work with key stakeholders, integrating academic study with the specific responsibilities of the apprentices' work role.

Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and creative individual who is committed to the pursuit of excellence in probation teaching and practice. You should have:
- Experience of teaching and learning activities within Higher Education and/or the workplace.
- An understanding of the requirements of an apprenticeship and apprenticeship standards.
- A postgraduate degree in criminal justice, or a cognate area and/or significant probation operational experience (desirable).
This role will require regular travel to a range of geographical areas, to deliver workshops, to support successful qualification. The regions to be covered are: East and West Midlands, North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, North West and Greater Manchester. As such, you will be required to travel as part of this role.
