Reporting To: Technical Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for providing technical support for the day-to-day operations of the PIR, including maintaining and reducing wet density, as well as managing levels of XXR, scrap, and products that need to be reworked. Run correct line speeds on all products and decrease level of downtime for Wet end reasons. Constantly challenging the status quo and be at the forefront of evolution, continuous improvement, quality and health, safety & welfare. Whist promoting Unilin’s core values of openness, integrity, adaptability, customer focus and team approach.
  • Working Monday - Friday 06:00-14:00/ 14:00-22:00 rotating weekly.

Key Tasks and Duties:

  • Work within the ethos and standards of the company.
  • Ensure levels of performance are in line with Site KPI’s.
  • Work with the management to improve Site KPI’s such as quality efficiency, availability, and OEE.
  • Ensure products are routinely tested and conform to specifications, conduct routine sampling for external testing.
  • Monitor the process through data recording tools, investigate and raise any anomalies.
  • Monitor in-process inspection and data recording to ensure quality process control systems are met.
  • You are responsible for updating and creating work instructions (SOP’s) where required and training out to relevant staff.
  • You must ensure all Laydown operators are fully trained to a high standard and update training matrix as required.
  • Conduct or assist in raw material/process trials, from planning, execution, testing, and evaluation of trials.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of product quality, work in accordance with Technical Process Engineer to modify formulations and improve production processes.
  • Report any plant problems in the pump rooms, laydown area, or laminator to the maintenance department and communicate to the technical process engineer.
  • Responsible for routine preventative maintenance tasks associated with Offloading, Pumproom, Laydown, and laminator areas.
  • You are responsible for correct additions of chemicals and control of release agents.
  • Liaise with the production supervisors and team leaders where necessary to ensure that all areas are kept tidy and free from foam build up.
  • Assist with tanker offloading where required and advise where necessary.
  • You must monitor raw material Goods Inwards and ensure that all products meet the required specification.
  • You are responsible for providing assistance on the production lines as required.
  • Assist in production and testing requirements of Uniblend FRELA 8020 as required.
  • All duties must be carried out in accordance with the relevant work instruction or if one is not available to the highest standard possible.
  • Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
