Consultant Data Process & Automation Engineer
London | Hybrid | £45,000 - £60,000
We're working with a leading change and transformation consultancy that helps organisations turn strategy into practical solutions that deliver lasting impact.
They're looking for a Process & Automation Engineer to join their Technology & Data practice, working with clients to understand how their processes work today, identify opportunities for improvement and build automation solutions that make a measurable difference.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience across process improvement, workflow automation and client delivery, who is also interested in how AI and Agentic AI can take automation further.
What you'll be doing
- Analyse end-to-end business processes to identify inefficiencies, variation and opportunities for automation
- Design improved future-state processes, balancing efficiency, user experience and risk
- Build workflow automation solutions across low-code, RPA and AI-enabled orchestration
- Support the testing, deployment and operational handover of automation solutions
- Work with tools such as UiPath and Celonis
- Assess where Agentic AI can add genuine value beyond traditional automation
- Design human-in-the-loop workflows with appropriate controls, governance and escalation paths
- Evaluate AI use cases based on feasibility, value, risk and operational readiness
- Help clients develop approaches to monitoring, auditability, compliance and responsible AI
- Define KPIs and success measures to demonstrate the impact of process improvements
- Support benefits realisation and continuous optimisation following deployment
- Work directly with clients and contribute to workshops, presentations and wider consulting engagements

What we're looking for
We're interested in people with experience in:
- Process improvement and workflow automation
- RPA, low-code or intelligent automation environments
- UiPath, Celonis or comparable automation platforms
- API-based integrations and workflow orchestration
- Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Azure AI or similar technologies
- Working with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solutions
- Facilitating client workshops and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Bridging process, data and automation/AI to deliver practical business outcomes
- A consulting or client-facing environment, ideally with 3+ years' experience
- Experience contributing to proposals, client presentations or business development would also be beneficial.
