Description Overview

We are excited to be recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering Team based in our Braunton manufacturing site.

This position will suit an engineering professional who is seeking a new challenge and has the technical capability, ingenuity and drive to make a difference by identifying and implementing process improvements.

This position reports to the Process & Project Engineering Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes used in the production of pharmaceutical oral solid dose products. You will help ensure that manufacturing operations are efficient, safe, cost-effective and compliant with regulatory standards.

  • Achieve and maintain expert process and equipment knowledge within a specific area of manufacturing

Process Design and Optimisation:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation
  • Design process changes to realise the identified opportunities
  • Conduct engineering change management activities to assess proposed process changes
  • Contribute to preliminary financial analysis of improvements to quantify benefit
  • Evaluate potential improvements to ensure the most beneficial are prioritized
  • Oversee implementation of changes

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure processes meet EHS, Quality and other regulatory requirements
  • Conduct process and equipment assessments to identify risks and implement corrective actions

Production Support:

  • Work with Maintenance, Production, Quality and Capital Project teams to design, implement and maintain production equipment and systems
  • Investigate and troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions

Continuous Improvement:

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Documentation:

  • Contribute to the Engineering Documentation/Drawing management system
  • Contribute to the development of SOPs, validation protocols and user requirement specification
  • Write technical reports

Experience Required

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline required
  • 3+ years of experience in a Process Engineering related role within a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience working in an oral solid dose pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with process optimisation required
  • Experience writing technical reports required
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry preferred
  • Experience with industrial building services preferred
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment preferred
