About This Role
This position focuses on the Product Engineer (Manufacturing Technology)—a dynamic role responsible for ensuring short-term operational success in assigned manufacturing cells.

Your Responsibilities
- Partnership and Improvement
- Work closely with cell Process Leads to design and implement Tactical Improvement Plans (TIPs), focusing on enhancing KPIs (e.g., down-time losses, waste).

Proactive Problem-Solving
- Own actions stemming from line-level reviews, ensuring continuous refinement of processes.

Continuous Improvement Culture
- Build world-class capabilities within manufacturing, embedding best practices.
- Lead initiatives like centre-lining, defect handling, optimised best-run settings, SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies).

Advanced Problem-Solving
- Utilise structured CI tools (RCA – Root Cause Analysis, A3, DMAIC) to lead complex issue resolution.

Operational Efficiency & Robustness
- Drive daily improvement actions to reduce losses, improve efficiency, and boost process robustness.

Strategic Alignment
- Align process enhancements with site CI strategy and broader business objectives.

Loss Management & Data-Driven Action
- Identify and address chronic losses at cell level using data-driven analysis and action plans.

Training & Mentoring
- Develop and deliver process/continuous improvement training for operators, technicians, engineers, and cell leaders.
- Coach teams in CI methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and standard work procedures.

Embedding Improvement Culture
- Support talent development by fostering a continuous improvement culture across your teams.
Experience We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate holds (or is pursuing):

Black Belt (preferably Green Belt Six Sigma qualification, though all belts are welcomed).

Bachelor’s in Engineering or HND with industry experience in Mechanical Engineering (desirable).

5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing environments, spanning technical roles such as Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Lean Managers, or Site Improvement roles.

- Project management certifications (e.g., CAPM, PMP, APM, Prince2) are viewed as desirable.
