Role Description

The Process Engineer will work on-site in Oxford in a full-time capacity, focusing on the design, optimization, and control of manufacturing and operational processes that support Refeyn’s mass photometry instruments and related products. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Developing and documenting process workflows
  • Identifying and resolving bottlenecks
  • Implementing improvements to enhance quality, reliability, and throughput

The role involves collaborating closely with engineering, production, quality, and R&D teams to translate product and performance requirements into scalable, robust processes. The Process Engineer will:

  • Monitor process performance metrics
  • Conduct root cause analysis for deviations
  • Support validation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives

This position also requires contributing to safety, compliance, and best-practice standards across the facility.

Qualifications

  • Strong Process Engineering and Process Design skills for developing and optimizing manufacturing and operational workflows.
  • Solid Process Control and Analytical Skills to monitor performance, interpret data, and resolve process issues effectively.
  • Background in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with understanding of relevant physical and chemical principles.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and familiarity with quality systems and documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, comfort with on-site laboratory or production environments, and proficiency with standard engineering and data analysis software tools.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Chemical, Process, Mechanical) or a closely related field is preferred; experience in high-tech instrumentation or life sciences manufacturing is an advantage.
