About the Energy Unit
The Energy unit supports global clients across sectors like hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks. We offer integrated engineering and project management services throughout the project lifecycle—from concept and design to construction, operations, decommissioning, or repowering. Together, we’re accelerating the global energy transition.
Overview of the Role
This role offers a client-facing position with autonomy to solve complex challenges. You’ll thrive in a team where progression is merit-based, delivering high-impact work across nuclear decommissioning, defence, and energy/infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality assurance by reviewing and inspecting others’ work.
- Management responsibilities for the nuclear process team.
- Lead process engineering aspects of multi-discipline design projects.
- Present and defend technical solutions to complex problems to clients.
- Ensure safety is integrated into process engineering design.
- Collaborate on all stages of front-end engineering (feasibility to detailed design).
- Liaise with clients to develop project solutions.
- Produce design and technical documentation.
- Attend site visits as needed.
- Expand client relationships and seek new opportunities.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
- Adapt to multi-project workflows while maintaining high standards.

Candidate Specification
Essential Requirements
- Line management experience for a nuclear process team.
- Chartered status (e.g., with the IChemE or another relevant professional body).
- Proven process engineering experience in design projects.
- Multi-discipline technical knowledge.
- In-depth industry standards and legislation expertise.
- Ability to present complex solutions to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong communication and commercial awareness of Front-End Engineering & Design (FEED) projects.
- Capacity to seek peer collaboration (engineers, specialists, and project teams) for fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Client-facing experience with a focus on bid consultation and MEET activities.
Note: Security Clearance is a requirement for appointment.
