Confidential - Senior Technical Opportunity – Water & Environmental Engineering - South East England:

Campbell Wood Search has been retained to support an established engineering business with the confidential appointment of an experienced technical professional to lead a specialist process engineering function.

This is a senior, hands-on position combining team leadership, technical governance, and the continued development of water and wastewater treatment solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a team of technical specialists
  • Overseeing process design, equipment sizing, and performance modelling
  • Supporting the development and validation of treatment technologies
  • Planning and managing site trials, data analysis, and technical reporting
  • Providing technical guidance throughout project development, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting
  • Working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal commercial and engineering teams
  • Driving continuous improvement across existing equipment and treatment processes

We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong background in process engineering within the UK water or wastewater sector
  • Experience across treatment process design, modelling, and equipment selection
  • Previous involvement in field trials, performance analysis, or process optimization
  • The ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical colleagues
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills
  • A relevant engineering or scientific qualification

The position is based in South East England and will be predominantly office-based, with travel to operational sites when required.
