In the Manufacturing team at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you’ll help power iconic electric cars. The Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) Process Leader is a front-line leader within the production operations team, managing Team Leaders and Associates within the manufacturing area under their direct control. The Process Leader will oversee the fostering teamwork, driving continuous improvement and will be a role model for our creators code values.

What To Expect

In this role, alongside leading your own team, you will work cross functionally with other departments and will oversee the improving of the SQDCPE metrics within their area. Here’s what to expect:

  • Overall responsibility for achieving and driving the improvement of SQDCPE metrics within the manufacturing area under their direct control
  • Supervise, lead and coach Team Leaders in continuous improvement and achieving their SQDCPE metrics
  • Drive constraint management and ensure bottlenecks are identified and improved upon
  • Managing and reporting on shift performance and SQDCPE metrics on a daily/ weekly/ monthly basis
  • Ensure that their area operates to the Global Production System (GPS) principles and standards, using the latest Quality Operating System (QOS) techniques
  • Manage and work by the Safety Operating Systems (SOS) during all stages of Launch, Rate of climb and steady state production
  • Support employee attendance initiatives and manage absence control activities such as counselling, capability and disciplinary procedures

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • A good knowledge and understanding of safety processes and safe systems of work
  • Ability to interrogate and interpret data, required for problem solving
  • A flexible approach to adapt with frequent change and to ensure efficient running of the operation
  • Evidence of leadership ability and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in leading and synchronising large groups of people in high volume or high complex processes
  • Knowledge of Propulsion manufacturing would be advantageous
  • Understanding of IPS/ CI/ Quality Tools & Problem Solving /CCAR process/ PDCA/ Finance and Budget control would be an advantage
