Responsibilities
An opportunity has arisen for a Process Owner within the Casting Plant at our Exeter site. This position is on a day shift basis (8am-4pm).
Main Activities:
- Ensure Chemical Processes including Core Removal, Shell Leach and Chem Farm are performed in compliance with the methods, materials and equipment detailed in the relevant Corporate Manual.
- Complete monthly assessment and reporting of MSAT score and represent HEC on monthly Business Unit Process Owner calls.
- Department champion for Process Management implementation. Set up and maintain process audit schedule and report departmental performance metrics.
- Monitor and control incoming materials. Ensure approval and implementation of new materials to QAP 72 and compliance with relevant Process Materials specification.
- Work with Supply Chain Manager to determine Min / Max levels and source suitable alternative materials when required to support the production run rate.
- Responsible for implementation of new Processes within department including specification, Capex submission and implementation of new equipment within the department.
- Provide and maintain and approve departmental SOP’s, EMS’s and Process Releases using TCE.
- Support training within the department including approval of training records to QAP151.
- Co-ordination with Product, Process and Manufacturing Engineers to implement technical developments and support engineering in solving process related casting defects.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and provide technical support to resolve issues to root cause allowing production of quality parts to resume in a timely manner.
- Responsible for department PFMEA and action plan to reduce RPN ratings.
- Support department 5S, TPM implementation and OEE measurement and improvement.
- Participate in department Continuous Improvement Kaizen events.
- Generate savings from continuous improvement of materials, productivity, waste, energy etc.
- Such duties as the management team may from time to time reasonably require.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Investment Casting.
- BSc in Engineering related discipline preferred, minimum HNC qualification in Engineering.
- Experience with Mix of 6 toolkit (Process Management, 6 Sigma, Flow / Value Stream Analysis / Lean Principles, Kaizen, Machine Reliability / Human Performance, MSAT).
- High level of computer literacy (Word / Excel / Project / Minitab).
- Awareness of Health and Safety.
