Process and Quality Specialist
The Process and Quality Specialist is responsible for improving the quality, reliability, and performance of remanufactured products throughout their service life. The role leads technical investigations involving warranty claims, premature failures, repeat failures, internal product non-conformances, quality concerns, and component reusability assessments. Working closely with production, branches, customers, Caterpillar representatives, and internal stakeholders, the Product Quality Specialist applies structured failure analysis and root cause analysis methodologies to identify failure mechanisms, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions that improve product reliability and reduce warranty exposure.

$69,520.00 – 86,900.00
The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

Apply structured methodologies to identify failure modes, root causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions.

Analyze technical, quality, and reliability data to identify trends, assess risks, and develop evidence-based solutions.

Demonstrate knowledge of heavy equipment systems, components, technical specifications, inspection criteria, and quality processes.

Drive quality improvement initiatives through investigation findings, corrective actions, and reliability-focused recommendations.

Prepare and present clear technical reports, findings, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work effectively with production teams, branches, customers, management, and technical representatives to resolve product-quality concerns.

Manage multiple investigations, documentation requirements, priorities, and follow-up activities while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.

Demonstrate integrity, accountability, sound decision-making, and relevant education, technical experience, or certifications in quality, reliability, failure analysis, or related disciplines.

College diploma, university degree, trade certification, or equivalent technical experience in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, heavy equipment, automotive technology, quality, reliability, or a related field.

Experience in quality assurance, warranty, failure analysis, reliability, product support, manufacturing, or remanufacturing.

Technical experience with engines, powertrain, hydraulics, torque converters, transmissions, or other heavy-equipment components.

Experience performing Applied Failure Analysis, root cause analysis, and technical investigations.

Experience interpreting technical specifications, service information, inspection criteria, and component reusability guidelines.

Experience with Caterpillar products, systems, and technical information is an asset.

Training or certification in Applied Failure Analysis, FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, auditing, or non destructive testing is an asset.
