About The Role
As Process Technician at our Broomfleet site reporting to the Process Manager, you will work as part of a team to promote a ‘safety first’ culture, harnessing teamwork and continual improvement in line with PIP+ programme. You will implement and sustain a rigorous process management system for the whole site, monitoring process conditions, and ensuring any deviations in process are acted upon / brought back to normal operating conditions to maintain quality parameters in specification.
Duties Also Include
- Analyse data to understand issues/improvements to drive corrective actions
- Deliver, control and instrumentation engineering projects from design to commissioning
- Planned, reactive & proactive maintenance including fault finding, calibration, testing, investigation and programming on a variety of equipment sets including; telemetry, analysers, dosing equipment, control (e.g. networks, PID controllers) and instrumentation (e.g. flowmeters, level transmitters, pressure transducers, temperature probes)
- Diagnosing control system faults on PLC control systems such as; siemens, schneider
- HMI & SCADA system backups and modifications
- Undertaking planned maintenance and/or calibrating instrumentation
- Prepare technical specifications drawings and project documentation
- Provide technical support and drive continuous improvement
- Have an excellent knowledge of the plant and process to help make informed decisions.
- Ensure process conditions are monitored and any deviations in process are acted upon and process is brought back to normal operating conditions maintaining quality parameters in specification.
- Support production targets; SEC / yield / waste reduction
- Ensure all process equipment across the site is maintained and tested to meet current safety standards
- Support and promote a continual improvement culture in line with PIP+ objectives
- Identify / keep sufficient levels of spare parts in order to maintain the process plant. (Kilns, Dryers etc.)
- Identify training opportunities within the factory process
- Carry out regular plant inspections and autonomous maintenance tasks & inspections

This position is based at our Broomfleet site, which is near Gilberdyke and is easily commutable from Goole, Market Weighton, Hessle, and Brough.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7.15am to 4.15pm
About You
You will be an experienced Process Technician with experience working in a factory/production environment. You’ll be a determined character, keen to explore issues to uncover underlying problems, and you’ll enjoy problem solving and coaching others on best practice.
Adaptability is important for this role, so ideally you will have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical disciplines.
You’ll also have/be
- Good communication and motivational skills
- Drive determination and follow through along with excellent attention to detail
- Experience of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Good exposure and promotion to health & safety.
- attention to detail
- Flexible approach to a varied workload
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering OR time-served apprenticeship (or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
- Experience maintaining Instrumentation
Desirable
- Process knowledge / experience working at a Clay tile production facility
- 2 years plus experience of working in a high production environment, primarily in the automotive, food, or FMCG related industries
- H&S qualification, IOSH
- Basic mechanical skills
- Gas Safety awareness
- A good knowledge of Electrical control systems
- Multi Skilled trained
- Experience in process-oriented industries (water, petrochemical, manufacturing)
- ONC or HNC in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control
- A good understanding of Drying and Firing processes along with excellent analytical and problem solving skills is essential with a high level of IT ability in order to manipulate data and present in clear understandable format
