Job Title: Process Technology Lead Engineer
Job Location: Shropshire, West Midlands
Job Reward: £43,000 - £48,000 Target +10% Bonus £2k+ 8% Pension Matched + Private Medical

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineering Technology Lead to join one of the world's leading FMCG manufacturers at their flagship Telford, Shropshire operation.
Following a recent multi-million investment into the process area, including a new mixing plant and chemical systems and processing technology, we are looking for a technical process chemical engineer or technologist to become the site's subject matter expert for process optimisation.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to become the technical authority behind how a world-class manufacturing process operates, performs, and continuously improves.
Role Responsibilities - Process Technology Lead Engineer

You will become the site's technical expert in the manufacturing process area, focusing on optimisation & performance, helping operators, engineers, production leaders, and quality teams optimise how the process plant runs and PERFORMS. The site produces millions of units per week across multiple production lines.

You will be driving improvements in:
- Process capability & Yield performance
- OEE & Waste reduction
- Clean-In-Place (CIP) effectiveness
- Process reliability
- Manufacturing standards & Technical capability

Typical challenges include reducing product giveaway, improving yield, increasing OEE, reducing downtime, improving energy efficiency, enhancing quality performance, and increasing throughput

You will, as a Process Technology Lead Engineer:
- Coach production teams in best-practice manufacturing process standards
- Improve plant availability and increase manufacturing capacity
- Support NPD and process validation activities
- Lead Clean-In-Place (CIP) Optimisation, reviewing cleaning cycles, water consumption, chemical usage, and cleaning effectiveness
Role Requirements - Process Technology Lead Engineer
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar, OR equivalent industry experience
- Experience working within a process manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process optimisation
- Ability to analyse data and solve complex manufacturing problems
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering and Quality teams
- Food and beverage manufacturing experience preferred but NOT essential
- Experience with process capability improvement
