Operating within a complex and highly regulated environment, the organisation manages a diverse portfolio of contracts and supplier relationships across multiple business functions.
As part of an experienced commercial team, you will play a key role in supporting strategic procurement activity while providing specialist expertise on commercial contracts, supplier agreements, and contract governance. This is an excellent opportunity for an MCIPS-qualified procurement professional to join an organisation where procurement is recognised as a strategic function and where your commercial and contractual expertise can make a genuine impact.
Your new role
As Procurement and Commercial Contracts Manager, you will operate at the intersection of procurement, commercial contracts, and governance, acting as the organisation's trusted advisor on contractual and procurement matters. Key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, supplier agreements, terms and conditions, and service contracts.
- Identifying and mitigating contractual, legal, and commercial risks while ensuring practical and commercially sound outcomes.
- Supporting complex procurement and tender exercises from strategy through to contract award.
- Supporting the wider procurement team with sourcing, particularly within the Technology category of spend.
- Supporting stakeholders through contract negotiations, contract variations, extensions, and dispute resolution where required.
- Advising senior stakeholders on procurement legislation, contract governance, and commercial best practice.
- Developing tender documentation, evaluation methodologies, and supplier engagement strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and wider public sector procurement regulations.
- Managing contract mobilisation and supporting robust supplier and contract management practices.
- Working closely with internal and external legal advisers on complex contractual matters.
- Providing commercial guidance that balances organisational objectives, risk management, and value for money considerations.

What you'll need to succeed
- MCIPS qualified with proven experience in public sector procurement
- Strong knowledge of public sector procurement legislation (PA23) and end-to-end tendering processes, as well as direct awards via frameworks.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and supplier agreements.
- Ability to provide commercially focused advice on contractual risk, governance, and compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.

Desirable:
- Law degree (LLB) or relevant legal qualification.

Desired Skills and Experience
