Procurement and Lettings Solutions Officer

£38,976 to £47,229 per annum

Permanent

Full Time (36 hours)

Location: 90 Putney Bridge Road, Wandsworth, London, SW18 1HR

Objective of role

Are you someone who loves challenges, enjoys meeting people, and isn’t afraid to knock on a door or pick up the phone? As a Procurement & Lettings Solutions Officer, you’ll play a key role in transforming the lives of homeless residents in Richmond and Wandsworth by securing good-quality private rented homes for people who need them most.

You will source, inspect, negotiate, and secure privately rented properties across Richmond and Wandsworth, unlocking new housing opportunities and preventing homelessness in your community.

If you’re driven, persuasive, people-focused, and ready to make a visible difference, this is your chance to shine.

About The Role

  • Spotting Opportunities: You will research online listings, scan property portals, and explore local neighbourhoods to identify private landlords and agents who may be open to letting their properties to the council.
  • Building Relationships: You will reach out to landlords and estate agents, pitch the benefits of partnering with the council, and maintain strong, positive relationships that encourage ongoing collaboration.
  • Negotiating Deals: You will use your negotiation skills to secure properties at affordable rates, helping deliver value for money and ensuring local taxpayers’ funds are spent wisely.
  • Offering Incentives: You will offer landlords cash incentives and support packages that make working with the council easy, appealing, and commercially attractive.
  • Conducting Property Inspections: You will visit properties, complete compliance checks, and ensure homes meet key standards supported by full in-house training. You will work towards a professional Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) qualification, fully paid for and delivered by the council.
  • Travelling the Boroughs: You will spend time out and about across Richmond and Wandsworth visiting landlords, agents, and properties, using either your own vehicle (with provided parking permit) or pre-paid travel cards.
  • Making a Real Impact: You will play a direct and meaningful part in preventing homelessness and improving the lives of residents across both boroughs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
