We’re looking for a motivated, organised, and commercially minded Procurement Assistant to join Good Energy’s Procurement team. In this role, you will provide essential support across both Supply (indirect procurement) and Services (direct procurement) activities, gaining fantastic exposure to a broad range of commercial, supplier management, and supply chain operations. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who is confident working with data and stakeholders and keen to develop a career in procurement and supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Commercial & Sourcing Support: Assist buyers with day-to-day procurement activity across direct and indirect spend.
  • Tenders & Quotations: Support tender processes, gather requirements, issue documentation, and compare supplier pricing.
  • Supplier Onboarding: Manage due diligence, compliance checks, and onboarding approvals for new suppliers.
  • Governance & Administration: Track action logs, maintain meeting minutes, and support risk, audit, and sustainability requirements.
  • Contract Management: Maintain the contract database and ensure contract records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Expiry Tracking: Monitor contract renewal and expiry dates, providing timely reporting and reminders to contract owners.
  • Approval Management: Administer the contract approval process for both new and renewing agreements.
  • Direct Purchasing: Handle purchase orders, pricing administration, and day-to-day purchasing queries.
  • System Maintenance: Keep product, supplier, and pricing information accurate within procurement systems.
  • Operational Communication: Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, availability, lead times, and day-to-day requirements.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Produce and maintain procurement trackers, reports, and dashboards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance procurement processes, data quality, and compliance with company policies.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive coordinator with a strong background in administration to join our team. Whether you bring direct commercial experience or strong organisational skills, you’ll play a key operational role keeping our procurement processes running smoothly.

Essentials:

  • Relevant Experience: Experience in administration, customer service, purchasing, commercial support, or a similar role.
  • Organisation & Detail: Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data & Numeracy: Confident working with numerical information, data, and general reporting.
  • Communication & Relationships: Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, paired with strong interpersonal abilities to build effective relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Coordination & Ownership: Able to coordinate meetings, follow up with stakeholders to ensure actions are completed, and work independently with high self-motivation.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong Microsoft Excel skills and general proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive, solutions-focused approach to continuous improvement and everyday challenges.

Desirables:

  • Supplier & Commercial Exposure: Previous experience working with third-party suppliers, or exposure to procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or contract management.
  • Systems Experience: Familiarity with using an ERP, MRP, purchasing, or contract management system.
  • Sourcing Knowledge: Prior exposure to sourcing, tenders, or quotation processes.
  • Sector Knowledge: Background or interest in the energy, renewables, or construction sectors

Our office is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. For this role, we're looking for candidates who can come in to our Chippenham office, once a week/once a month based on location.

We offer both formal and informal flexible working options. This role is a 30 Hour role.
