Procurement Assistant
Are you looking to build your career in procurement and purchasing within a growing engineering and manufacturing business? We’re working with an innovative organisation in Chippenham who are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory or administration who wants to develop their skills and progress towards becoming a Buyer.
What you’ll be doing:
- Raising, issuing and tracking purchase orders
- Liaising with suppliers and chasing delivery dates
- Helping ensure materials arrive on time for production
- Requesting and comparing supplier quotations
- Maintaining supplier information, pricing and lead times
- Supporting stock and inventory management
- Resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries and invoices
- Working closely with production, engineering, stores and finance
- Supporting supplier performance and procurement reporting

What we’re looking for:
- Around 1–2 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory or a similar administrative role
- Manufacturing or engineering experience would be a bonus
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Good Excel skills
- An understanding of lead times, stock and purchasing processes
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicating with suppliers
- Proactive, hands-on and happy working as part of a small team
