Procurement Business Partner

Salary: £41,863 - £49,250 per annum
Location: Birmingham Hybrid (three days working from home and two days working from our Birmingham office).
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time

The GDC has a broad scope of indirect procurement spend and projects that you will be able to be involved with and influence, including IT transformational projects, a large portfolio of Facilities contracts, Print Services, HR and training services, research contracts, Financial Services, and new services, including a new platform for employees to receive HR information and several procurements for unique services that are specialist to GDC for its role as the dental regulator.

As a Procurement Category Manager / Business Partner (known internally as a Procurement Business Partner), you will ensure the General Dental Council obtains the best value for money in its procurement activities while adhering to policy and legal requirements. You will be responsible for managing procurement processes, negotiating and monitoring contracts, identifying efficiency savings, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. You will collaborate closely with other teams within GDC, such as Finance, Information Technology, Information Governance, People Services, and Legal, to provide expertise in procurement and specialist support to ensure the effective delivery of procurement activities and projects.

About you:

  • A business partnering approach to procurement, with a strong customer focus.
  • Successful achievement of targets and objectives.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of best practice developments in procurement and sourcing, and knowledge of current procurement law and compliance.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards is desirable.
