Procurement Business Partner (Utilities, IoT & Connectivity)

Contract Length: 6-9 months
Day Rate: £550-£650 p/d via Umbrella
Location: Winchester, 1 day per week onsite

Overview

This role supports the Utilities business, focusing on smart metering, smart sensors, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, and connectivity services. The successful candidate will work closely with bid, product development, and commercial teams to ensure robust supplier engagement, commercial outcomes, and governance throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support procurement activity across the utilities and connectivity portfolio.
  • Work with product development teams to support the creation of new products and services.
  • Provide procurement leadership throughout customer bid processes.
  • Challenge stakeholders to ensure robust commercial, contractual, and procurement outcomes.
  • Support supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations, and contract development.
  • Ensure procurement, bid, and product development processes are followed effectively.
  • Influence and manage senior stakeholders across multiple functions.

  • Procurement Business Partner or Category Manager background.
  • Experience within utilities, telecommunications, networking, connectivity, or IoT environments.
  • Strong understanding of new product development processes.
  • Proven experience supporting customer bids and commercial tenders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong contractual knowledge.
  • Resilient and confident in challenging stakeholders constructively.
  • Experience working with connected devices, telecoms networks, smart metering, or similar technologies would be highly advantageous.
