This is an opportunity to build your procurement career while helping deliver infrastructure projects that shape daa’s airports. As a Buyer in our Construction Procurement Team, you will take ownership and support a varied portfolio of sourcing activities, working alongside experienced Category Leads and collaborating with project teams and suppliers to turn requirements into well-run competitions and successful contract awards. You do not need to be a construction or procurement specialist. We are looking for someone with sound judgement, curiosity and the ambition to learn and make a visible contribution to the daa Procurement Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of assigned sourcing activities from early planning through tender, evaluation, approval and contract award, producing clear, proportionate tender evaluations that enable confident, informed and commercially sound decision-making.
- Work closely with Category Leads to deliver category plans, priorities and sourcing strategies across the infrastructure portfolio and Support Category Leads with market research, supplier engagement, frameworks and qualification systems, bringing insights and ideas back to the team.
- Partner with project teams to shape clear requirements, realistic timelines and practical procurement approaches that support successful delivery.
- Run fair, efficient and well-documented competitions in line with daa governance, keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process.
- Assess supplier proposals, support commercial negotiations and identify opportunities to improve value, quality and project outcomes.
- Build constructive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, resolving issues where possible and escalating risks early.
- Maintain accurate records on eTenders, the Sourcing Register and approval systems, supporting strong governance and audit readiness.
- Other ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- At least two years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, office administration, contract support or a similar role.

Skills
- Good commercial judgement, good data analysis and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Clear communicator, with strong organisation skills and careful attention to detail.
- A practical, collaborative approach and a willingness to build your procurement knowledge.
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications.
- Flexible and adaptable with motivation and resilience to be successful in a challenging, dynamic environment.
Desirable, but not essential
- Experience in construction, engineering or public procurement.
- A relevant qualification or professional membership. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- A procurement qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
Support and development
- No specialist qualification is required at appointment. You will receive support from experienced Procurement Leads and relevant procurement, governance and airport training.
- Help improve how the team works by contributing to better templates, guidance, reporting, sustainability and supplier management.
