As part of the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Disney Cruise Line (DCL) New Build Strategic Sourcing Team, you’ll partner with the best in the business responsible for the creation and delivery of new Disney Cruise Line ships. Our group constantly pursues new ideas and technologies to help the company drive value, with the overall mission being to steer compliance with internal policies and procedures, protect the Disney brand through risk mitigation and partner with the best the marketplace has to offer.

This role will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week with Friday working from home. This role is offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of four years.
What you Will Do
The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for leading aspects of support and implementation of the entire procurement process for multiple complex DCL New Build related projects and contracts. You will be developing and implementing category sourcing and contracting strategies while ensuring the timely acquisition of materials optimizing total cost of ownership, sustainment, optimal value, safety, and quality assurance and control (QA/QC).
This role requires proven and effective collaboration skills, and the ability to identify needs to support sourcing peers, stakeholder teams, finance & controls, legal, project management and external partners, suppliers and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify category-specific suppliers, and other consultants based on defined selection criteria
- Early engagement in project development and proactive evaluation of related spend and requirements
- Manage the competitive bidding processes (RFQ/RFP) in accordance with The Walt Disney Company policy and procedures, including sole/single/preferred source evaluation
- Execute purchase orders, contracts, and change orders with post-award administration and negotiations, through contract close-out
- Assist, implement and influence supplier performance management programs that focus on contractual responsibility, quality, responsiveness and cost
- Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and best practices
- Analyze market industry trends and conditions
- Communicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships and/or market conditions or constraints that could affect planning and decision-making
- Provide input into the development of Strategic Sourcing’s annual plan

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction, Design, Engineering (mechanical and/or structural), Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience in Procurement & Sourcing, Engineering, Legal, Project Management, Estimating/Scheduling, Finance & Controls, or Business Consulting
- Extensive experience developing sourcing, procurement, and contract delivery strategies across design, production, creative services, FF&E, and equipment, including managing processes from bid through award
- Strong commercial and contractual acumen, including familiarity with negotiating key contract terms and conditions, risk allocation, and supplier/vendor relationships
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, project management, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to identify needs and implement effective solutions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver commitments in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment while collaborating effectively across functions including Legal, Finance, Controls, Risk Management, Safety, and Project Management
- Proven ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and tools, and to work effectively in a virtual, diverse, and inclusive environment across multiple time zones
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key Disney Cruise Line New Build vendors, suppliers, and business partners
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as required to support project needs, supplier engagement, and key business partner relationships
