Role Description
SY Advisory LTD ™ is seeking an experienced Procurement & Bid Writing Consultant to work closely with clients and support the identification, development and successful submission of public-sector and commercial procurement opportunities.
The successful candidate will combine strong procurement expertise with professional bid and tender-writing skills, helping to identify suitable contract opportunities, develop competitive tender responses and support clients throughout the procurement process.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and monitor suitable procurement and tender opportunities.
- Assess tender opportunities and provide recommendations on bid/no-bid decisions.
- Analyse tender specifications, requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Develop and write high-quality bid, tender and proposal responses designed to maximise evaluation scores.
- Prepare method statements, quality responses, mobilisation plans and supporting documentation.
- Conduct market and supplier research to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
- Develop strategic sourcing and procurement plans aligned with client objectives.
- Support contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- Develop and manage category strategies and procurement frameworks.
- Analyse procurement data, spend and supplier performance.
- Prepare professional reports, recommendations and presentations for clients.
- Advise clients on procurement policies, processes and best practices.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure bids are accurate, compliant and submitted within deadlines.
- Maintain a pipeline of upcoming tender opportunities and manage the end-to-end bid process.
- Review successful and unsuccessful bids and implement lessons learned.
- Contribute to the development of procurement tools, templates, frameworks and bid-writing processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should possess:
- Strong procurement and supplier management experience, including sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
- Proven experience in bid writing, tender management and proposal development.
- Experience preparing responses to public-sector and commercial procurement opportunities.
- Strong Category Management skills and an understanding of strategic sourcing.
- Excellent analytical skills for cost analysis, spend analysis and performance measurement.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder-management skills.
- Excellent written English and the ability to produce clear, persuasive and professionally structured tender responses.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify compliance requirements within complex tender documentation.
- Experience working across multiple industries or client environments is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote and cross-functional environment.
- Proficiency with procurement systems, Microsoft Office/Excel, spreadsheets and data-analysis tools.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Procurement or a related discipline is desirable.
- Professional procurement or bid-writing qualifications such as CIPS, CPSM or APMP are advantageous.
