Job Description

We are looking for a talented Procurement Contracting Principles & Compliance Senior Specialist to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England.

Leonardo Helicopters, part of the multi-national Leonardo Group, is a world leader in the design, manufacture and support of helicopters.

Your Impact

You'll be working within the Procurement Governance & Excellence (PG&E) cross-geographical function. This key function is organised to foster harmonisation and synergies across all five geographies and promote a consistent growth of a strong governance organisation. The PG&E central and local teams all working closely together to drive, direct and support our Procurement organisation deliverables and evolution.

You'll have the ultimate target of ensuring Procurement compliance, together with our legal department, with internal and external regulations across the four geographies as well as defining contractual standards for Procurement.

For the awareness of internal applicants, this role is a JFF level 6.

What you'll do as Procurement Contracting Principles & Compliance Senior Specialist

  • Defining P&SC contractual standards

    • With support from legal guiding Procurement in contracting principles and policy.
    • Review and define contract documents and business provisions.
    • Provide training, guidance and support on complex and non complex Negotiations.
    • Trade control compliance policy, process and management to ensure company exposure to risk and liability is minimal.
  • Contract & Trade Compliance Management

    • Manage the trade compliance through continuous improvement
    • Process, policy and training thereof by developing, contributing and influencing the setting of contracting policy, strategy and boundaries within which Procurement teams will be empowered to operate.
    • Embed Environmental requirements in coordination with other team members.
  • Contractual Support.

    • To reduce significant liability on the company with regard to commercial, compliance and legislative impact, and risk through careful drafting, development, and standardization of Procurement contract documents.
    • Provide guideline to flow down specific contractual requirements into supply chain (eg. DEFCON, Cybersecurity).

What you'll bring

  • BSc/BA in law, business or related field.
  • Proven experience as contract manager or specialist.
  • Contractual and legal knowledge.
  • Strong appreciation of Trade Control, in particular, U.S. International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations and Export Administration Regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • Understanding of best practice Procurement techniques & processes.
  • English Language. Italian is a plus.
  • Ability to facilitate the resolution of conflict both internally and with suppliers/customers.
