Job Title: Procurement Coordinator (Associate Consultant) - R&D

Location: London, hybrid (3 days per week on site)
Duration: 6 months FTC
Start: ASAP
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience

Due to growth of an ongoing programme of work, we are hiring a number of Associate Consultants who will provide project coordination and procurement / operational support to our Customer.

Role:

As an Associate Consultant, you will have a positive, proactive mindset and be motivated to deliver exceptional outcomes for our Customer.

You will ideally have some experience of working within a Procurement or Operations team where you have brought structure, rigour and momentum to complex initiatives.

You will coordinate stakeholders, organise meetings, manage critical information, produce polished documentation and outputs, and ensure every detail is executed with precision.

Accountabilities of the Associate Consultant will include but not be limited to:

  • Coordinate day-to-day team administration, including managing inboxes, tracking actions, maintaining project plans.
  • Prepare, format and quality-check documents, presentations, reports.
  • Organise meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, minute taking, action tracking and follow-up coordination.
  • Maintain contract documentation and knowledge repositories, ensuring files are accurately stored, version controlled and easily accessible.
  • Support procurement team with general coordination activities, including stakeholder communications, document reviews, data collection and administrative tasks to keep delivery running smoothly.
  • Help define data standards and workflow requirements so that information from different systems and processes can be captured consistently and reused for reporting, portfolio oversight, and decision support.
  • Support the review, selection, testing, and implementation of project management, workflow, and automation tools that can work flexibly across different teams while providing central visibility.

Required skills and experience:

Essential

  • Proven work experience gained within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to understand how data, process, people, and governance interact.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, evolving requirements, and non-standard operating models.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a Procurement, PMO, portfolio office, transformation, R&D, innovation, grant funding, or complex delivery environment.

Personal Attributes

  • Practical, curious, and improvement-minded, with a strong instinct for reducing unnecessary manual effort and the ownership mindset to proactively identify what needs to be done and drive it forward at pace.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-pressure, dynamic environment with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Comfortable challenging existing processes constructively and identifying where work can be simplified, standardised, automated, or removed.
  • Organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to build credibility across operational, technical, and senior stakeholders.
  • Motivated by gaining experience in a busy consulting environment where there are plenty of potential future opportunities to be involved in.
