Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator operating within a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for supporting factory and warehouse operations through effective procurement, coordination, and administrative support. This role ensures the timely sourcing of goods and services, accurate processing and management of purchase orders, and clear communication with suppliers.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Procurement Coordinator helps maintain up-to-date procurement data, supports reporting activities, and contributes to the smooth running of daily operations. The position plays a key role in ensuring supply continuity, resolving day-to-day procurement issues, and supporting the wider procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the procurement of a range of indirect materials and services for factory and warehouse operations, including secondary packaging, stationery, uniforms, effluent services, and other ad hoc requirements.
- Coordinate daily call-offs from offsite storage, ensuring stock levels are effectively monitored, reviewed, and aligned with operational needs.
- Support key business projects (Hempel and Farrow & Ball) through data collecting, administrative support, and the maintenance of accurate departmental reports and trackers.
- Manage the end-to-end import process for raw materials sourced from the EU, ensuring compliance and timely processing.
- Provide cross-functional cover within the procurement team during periods of absence (e.g. holiday/sickness), ensuring continuity of operations.
- Manage and prioritise the Procurement department inbox, ensuring timely responses and efficient workflow management.
- Carry out administrative activities to support strategic procurement initiatives and continuous improvement objectives.
- Review all supplier order confirmations, validating accuracy and updating purchase orders where required.
- Support the wider procurement team with raising manual purchase orders and customer orders.
- Maintain and update procurement data within IFS, including price lists and system requirements.
- Be responsible for the coordination of transport tasks, working with internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution of daily call-offs.
- Collaborate with the wider team to develop, document, and improve procurement processes, and support training initiatives where required.
- Support the identification and resolution of supply or order-related issues to minimise disruption to operations.
- Escalate risks relating to supply, pricing, or delivery timelines as appropriate.
- Coordinate the setup and ongoing maintenance of part numbers and product records within IFS, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Support the monthly and year-end stock take process, including coordination of on-site and off-site (external storage) counts.
- Expedite all purchase orders where required, following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and minimise operational disruption.
- Create and maintain supplier records within IFS, working closely with Finance to ensure correct setup and governance.
- Provide cross-functional support within the procurement team as required to ensure continuity of operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
