The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join a leading UK regulated organisation as a Procurement Policy & Governance Lead, supporting the continued development of its Procurement Centre of Excellence.
This is a hands-on Level 7 SME role for an experienced procurement professional who can combine strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and regulated procurement with practical policy, governance and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve procurement policies, procedures, guidance and governance frameworks.
- Act as a trusted SME on Procurement Act 2023, regulatory compliance and procurement governance.
- Translate complex legislation into clear, practical guidance for the business.
- Review procurement processes and identify opportunities to improve compliance, efficiency and user experience.
- Work closely with Legal, Risk & Controls, Finance, Security and business stakeholders to influence sound procurement decisions.
- Support procurement systems and digital transformation, including AI-enabled improvements.
- Coordinate procurement governance forums and regular procurement surgeries, managing actions through to completion.
- Keep regulatory and procurement guidance up to date and communicate key changes across the organisation.
- Support the development of new templates, documentation and consistent ways of working across Procurement.

About You
You will bring:
- Strong procurement experience within a regulated or complex environment.
- Good practical knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023.
- Experience in policy, governance, compliance or assurance.
- Confidence operating as a senior SME and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with procurement systems, digital transformation or AI would be advantageous.
