Job Description
🔍 Procurement Lead
🕐 Full-Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week
📍 Birmingham Office (hybrid working)

About the Role
As water technologies experts, we don't just offer jobs – we build careers with purpose. We're on a mission of Ecological Transformation, and we're looking for a dedicated Procurement Lead to help us lead the charge.
The Procurement Lead will be responsible for managing procurement activities for Veolia, and will play a key role in ensuring customer sales orders are met on time whilst working to optimise our supply chain efficiency. They will be responsible for driving procurement excellence, managing supplier relationships, coordinating with logistics and sales teams, and supporting two procurement administrators to achieve our operational objectives.
What will I be doing…
- Manage and support two procurement administrators to deliver procurement excellence
- Create purchase orders using Latis MRP system for standard sales
- Liaise with Logistics, Sales Administration, Engineering Scheduling teams and 3PL to ensure customer sales orders are met on time
- Follow through with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and monitor supplier conformance
- Proactively identify disruption to supply and mitigate risk by seeking alternative sources
- Work with 3PL to ensure smooth goods receipting and provide on-site assistance when required
- Coordinate direct-to-site deliveries effectively with the Logistics team
- Update shared sales backlog report daily with PO information to keep all internal stakeholders informed
- Ensure suppliers adhere to company terms and conditions
- Drive efficiency in procurement activities and negotiate favourable prices where possible
- Support the process of creating new suppliers in Latis
- Assist in developing our supply chain capabilities
- Resolve invoice queries with Accounts Payable
- Collate and submit quality and compliance information such as packaging information and supplier evaluations
- Comply with and promote Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate health & safety awareness and practice

What you will bring to the role…
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to guide, influence, and coordinate with internal and external partners
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, logistics teams, and internal engineering teams
- Demonstrate passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Results-oriented with a 'can do' attitude and keen interest in procurement
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and evolve due to the ever-changing nature of the industries in which we operate
Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing role, including quality and operational experience
- Must be highly motivated with a keen interest in procurement/buying
- Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures, and be financially and commercially aware
- Negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Qualified to A Level or equivalent with a minimum Grade B in Maths and English at GCSE level
- Good understanding of procedures and concepts within procurement discipline

- Working towards a CIPS Level 4 qualification or commitment to study towards this qualification
- Google Suite experience
- Experience using ERP systems (JD Edwards)
- Experience using Quality systems
- Good understanding of technical/process areas with experience in water, engineering, or construction industry
- Experience with Latis MRP system
