As we continue to evolve and strengthen our support services, we're looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to play a pivotal role in transforming and embedding procurement excellence across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives on building robust processes, driving value for money, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance in a complex, multi-site environment.
This is a full time permanent role with attendance at our head office required at least once a week with some regional / national travel as required. Our ideal candidate will be based within an hours commute of Widnes.

As Procurement Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and embedding procurement policies, procedures, governance frameworks and controls that safeguard the charity while delivering commercial value. Working closely with leaders across Finance, Facilities, Legal and Operational teams, you'll influence organisational decision-making and ensure procurement practices are efficient, transparent and future-focused.

This is a highly visible role where your expertise will directly contribute to risk mitigation, operational efficiency, supplier performance, and ultimately the quality of services delivered across the charity.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to simplify and strengthen procurement processes
- Managing supplier due diligence, onboarding and compliance activities
- Developing and maintaining key supplier and contract databases
- Supporting contract managers with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Providing commercial advice on supplier contracts in partnership with Legal colleagues
- Monitoring supplier performance to ensure agreed service, quality and invoicing standards are achieved
- Conducting procurement audits and compliance reviews
- Producing insightful reports on supplier spend, value for money, risk, and compliance for senior stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and legislative requirements, including Modern Slavery, Anti-Bribery, Corruption and Fraud legislation
- Leading and developing a Procurement Specialist, supporting performance, growth and development
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and influencing positive procurement practices
What We’re Looking For
You'll be a confident procurement professional with the ability to balance commercial thinking with strong governance and compliance expertise.
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience in a procurement leadership or category management role
- Experience within a large, complex, multi-site organisation
- Demonstrable success implementing and improving procurement processes and controls
- Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation, governance and best practice
- Experience developing supplier management and procurement frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness with contract negotiation experience
