Our client is a fast-growing and highly respected supplier of electrical and industrial products, serving an impressive customer base of mechanical and electrical end user customers throughout the UK.
As part of their continued growth and investment plans, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Procurement Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team and take ownership of the procurement function.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a proactive procurement professional to lead transformation across purchasing, supplier management, inventory planning, and procurement strategy—helping to build a best-in-class function that supports the next phase of their growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of procurement strategies that enhance operational performance, strengthen supplier partnerships, and deliver commercial value across the business.
You'll be empowered to review and improve current processes, introduce best practices, and provide strategic leadership to a dedicated procurement team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned to the company's growth objectives.
- Build, manage, and strengthen supplier relationships to ensure outstanding service, quality, and commercial performance.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives and margin improvement through effective negotiation and supplier management.
- Lead inventory optimization and demand forecasting activities to maximize stock availability while controlling working capital.
- Enhance procurement processes, systems, and controls to improve efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Analyse supplier performance and market trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with sales, operations, and senior leadership to support customer requirements and business objectives.

About You
We are looking to speak with an ambitious procurement professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach.
You will ideally possess:
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, or Procurement Lead within an electrical, engineering, manufacturing, automation, or industrial environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience of inventory management, forecasting, and stock optimization.
- A track record of delivering procurement improvements, cost savings, and process enhancements.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing, coaching, and developing teams.
- Confidence using ERP/MRP systems and procurement reporting tools.
- The ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
