Procurement Manager

Location: Bolton Working Pattern: Hybrid Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We’re working with a highly established and rapidly growing organisation operating across a large, multi-site environment, and they’re looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager to play a key role in their continued growth. This is an opportunity to join a business with a genuinely meaningful purpose, where the work you do has a direct impact on the services and environments they provide across their extensive network of sites. This isn't simply a transactional procurement position. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop the procurement function, work closely with senior stakeholders and take ownership of strategic procurement activity across a broad range of categories.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you’ll have genuine visibility and influence across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Procurement Manager, you’ll lead procurement activity across a diverse and evolving organisation, ensuring the business achieves the best possible combination of value, quality, compliance and commercial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating procurement exercises across multiple categories
  • Managing and developing the procurement team
  • Developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Leading procurement activity for new site openings
  • Sourcing equipment, energy, vehicles and operational resources
  • Managing supplier performance and ensuring agreed service levels are achieved
  • Conducting supplier due diligence covering compliance, sustainability and quality
  • Managing supplier databases and contract registers
  • Leading tenders, price reviews and supplier onboarding
  • Negotiating contracts and commercial terms to deliver value for money
  • Working closely with Finance, Property, IT and operational teams to forecast requirements
  • Taking responsibility for fleet procurement, including new vehicle orders, de-fleeting and vehicle reallocation
  • Producing procurement reports and using data to identify commercial opportunities
  • Managing supplier complaints and disputes
  • Ensuring procurement activity complies with internal policies and relevant regulations
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities for cost efficiencies and continuous improvement

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
