About the Role
The Role
GAP Group are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Head Office team in Glasgow and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of procurement across the business. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic procurement professional who thrives on delivering value, building strong supplier partnerships and driving continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management & Supply Chain, you'll be instrumental in developing category strategies, enhancing supplier performance, improving commercial outcomes and supporting the evolution of procurement from a transactional function to a strategic business partner.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and implementing category and sourcing strategies across key equipment categories
- Managing relationships with major OEMs and suppliers, negotiating pricing, service levels and commercial agreements
- Leading tender processes and evaluating suppliers based on quality, technical capability, sustainability and total cost of ownership
- Driving supplier relationship management through regular reviews and strategic partnerships
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and conducting value-for-money reviews across supplier contracts
- Monitoring supplier performance, delivery networks and support capabilities across the UK's depot network
- Producing spend, savings and performance reports for senior stakeholders
- Driving procurement best practice, governance and compliance across the business

About You
What You'll Bring
We're seeking a commercially astute procurement professional who combines strategic thinking with strong supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Essential
- Significant experience in a procurement or purchasing management role
- Experience within a multi-site, asset-intensive, engineering, construction, manufacturing, hire or rental environment
- Proven success in strategic sourcing, category management and supplier negotiations
- Experience supporting procurement transformation, process improvement or business change initiatives
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to interpret complex spend data and identify opportunities
- Experience managing supplier performance and contract delivery
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams
Desirable
- MCIPS qualification or currently working towards it
- Experience within plant hire, tool hire, construction or another asset-intensive sector
- Knowledge of ERP, P2P or spend analytics systems
