About Us

We are a prestigious main contractor specialising in delivering high-value construction projects as principal contractors. With a reputation for excellence and innovation, we are seeking a talented Procurement Manager to oversee and enhance our procurement processes for projects valued between £30,000,000 to £150,000,000. This role offers potential for directorship and the opportunity to work on flagship projects.

The Role

As a Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimising our procurement strategies and processes. Based in Chorleywood, you will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, contributing to the success of our high-profile construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with project requirements and company objectives.
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring effective procurement of materials, subcontractor services, and plant hire.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and agreements to achieve best value and mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and establish strong supplier relationships to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and manage budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and practices.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on procurement strategy and market trends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager in the construction or related industry, ideally with experience in large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract management, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Membership of CIPS or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
