About the Role
dmg::media connects with millions of people daily through iconic print and digital brands including The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, The i Paper, Metro and New Scientist. The organisation has offices across the UK, US, Australia and Ireland.
The role reports into the Head of Procurement, who is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to take ownership of key indirect categories including Marketing, Sales, Travel, Human Resources, Facility Management and Financial services, along with other areas on an ad hoc basis.
Activities typically are operational and delivery focused, with multiple projects running in parallel. Focusing on driving value or savings for the organisation which operates in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving media landscape where agility, innovation and strategic value drive our business forward.

Main Responsibilities
- Category Strategy: Define and implement robust category strategies aligned with overarching business goals.
- Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead end-to-end sourcing projects and commercial/contractual negotiations to deliver service enhancements and cost efficiency.
- Contract Management: Proactively monitor, manage and negotiate contracts across the contract lifecycle to meet stakeholder requirements.
- Savings & Value Creation: Identify savings opportunities, build compelling business cases, and present actionable recommendations to decision-makers.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with senior internal stakeholders.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Manage key vendor relationships to ensure high service quality, budget adherence, risk mitigation, and security of supply.
- Governance & Operations: Streamline Procurement and Legal governance processes, improving the efficiency of supplier onboarding and contract risk management.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives and drive supplier-led innovation across your portfolio.
Person Specification
- Experience: Strong background in end-to-end indirect category management, with a track record of running complex sourcing projects and managing large contracts.
- Commercial Track Record: Proven history of delivering significant, measurable cost savings and commercial value.
- Mindset: A proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and comfortably balances strategic thinking with hands-on tactical delivery.
- Process Focus: A sharp eye for process improvement, both across broader business operations and within the Procurement function itself.
- Tools & Systems: Hands-on experience with core procurement platforms including or similar to: Coupa, Ironclad, PowerBI, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Qualifications & Sector Background: CIPS qualification and prior media/advertising sector experience are desirable, but not essential.
