About the Role
Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a well-established public sector organisation based in Leeds on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with a strong background within the public sector to join a busy procurement function and provide immediate support across a range of procurement activity.
Key Responsibilities
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing procurement exercises from initial requirement through to contract award
- Providing professional procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders
- Developing appropriate sourcing and procurement strategies
- Supporting tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award processes
- Ensuring procurement activity is undertaken in accordance with relevant public sector procurement requirements and internal governance
- Engaging effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Identifying opportunities to achieve value for money and improve commercial outcomes
- Supporting contract and supplier management activity where required
- Maintaining accurate procurement documentation and appropriate audit trails
- Managing competing priorities within a fast-paced procurement environment

Knowledge & Skills
- A minimum of 5 years' procurement experience within a public sector organisation
- Strong experience of managing end-to-end procurement exercises
- A good understanding of public sector procurement and governance requirements
- Experience working with and influencing stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and supplier-management skills
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and quickly become effective within a new organisation
- A relevant procurement qualification, such as CIPS or equivalent

The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an established public sector procurement professional looking for their next interim assignment in Leeds. Due to the initial three-month duration, candidates who can demonstrate the ability to quickly pick up existing procurement activity and deliver with minimal supervision would be particularly well suited.
