Job Title
Do you have experience in Procurement/tendering? Are you looking for a new challenge?
NHS Shared Business Services are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive procurement professional to join our Strategic Procurement Team, within NHS Shared Business Services.
Due to internal growth, the Team are seeking a highly motivated procurement and commercial individual who is flexible and can significantly add to the positive reputation of our business.
You will lead on and manage multiple procurement projects for our NHS Customers, managing the procurement strategy, producing the relevant documentation, utilising best practice and innovative procurement solutions, conducting the tender evaluation and award processes. Alongside this, you will also support our customers and provide training and advice on the procurement process whilst providing added value and best practice.
The role will work across the Health, Construction and Estates, Business Services and Digital and IT categories. You will be responsible for developing and delivering procurement projects.

What you will be doing:
- Leading Procurement projects (scoping, pre-tendering activities, tendering, selection, evaluation, moderation and potentially contract negotiation)
- Providing high quality customer focused procurement and service design advice to external customers whilst supporting the team in delivery of projects
- Crafting and maintaining positive, collaborative, and supportive professional relationships with internal collaborators and external customers, as well as actively generating and establishing relationships with new customers.
- Being regarded as a trusted advisor to the customer as well as knowledge of the NHS and its strategic goals and policy drivers.
- Actively generating opportunities for future work through the ongoing development of professional networks of contacts across the NHS and wider public sector.
- Horizon scanning in order to identify development and new opportunities for new and existing customers.
- Ensuring project documents and files are managed and retained correctly to allow for efficient review for audit.

What you’ll bring:
- Experience of working in procurement delivering projects.
- Knowledge of public sector/NHS procurement processes and Legal regulations.
- Demonstrable experience in Procurement activity preferably public sector.
- Knowledge and skill in Procurement process, including tendering and contract negotiation.
- Experience of working on and managing tendering projects and framework call offs.
- Working knowledge of e-sourcing software.
- Effective communicator both verbally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to take responsibility for delivering own work and meeting agreed work objectives, working to customer requirements and governance processes.
It would be great if you had:
- Professional Qualification (or the desire and willingness to work towards) in Procurement (such as MCIPS).
