About PipeWize

PipeWize Ltd is a growing mechanical and industrial services contractor delivering projects across the UK. As the business continues to expand, we are strengthening our commercial and supply chain functions to support multiple projects and long-term growth.

We are now seeking an experienced and commercially focused Procurement Manager to take ownership of procurement activities across our projects and wider business operations.

The Role

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing both direct and indirect procurement, ensuring materials, plant, equipment, subcontract services, and operational requirements are sourced competitively, efficiently, and in line with project budgets, programmes, technical specifications, and company procedures.

Working closely with Directors, Commercial Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, Finance, and Site Teams, the successful candidate will lead supplier negotiations, improve procurement controls, manage supply chain performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and commercial improvement.

This is a hands-on management role requiring strong commercial judgement, supplier management experience, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management

  • Manage procurement activities across multiple projects from initial enquiry through to order placement and delivery.
  • Develop procurement plans and schedules aligned with project programmes and operational requirements.
  • Establish and improve procurement procedures, approval controls, and reporting processes.
  • Identify long-lead items, supply chain risks, and procurement priorities at an early stage.
  • Provide procurement and commercial support to Directors, Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams.

Direct Procurement

  • Source and procure mechanical materials, pipework, valves, fittings, supports, plant, tools, equipment, and project-specific materials.
  • Review project specifications, material requirements, quotations, and procurement schedules.
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations and provide commercial recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, delivery arrangements, warranties, and commercial conditions.
  • Ensure materials are purchased in accordance with required quality, technical standards, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Monitor orders and deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time and in full.
  • Identify alternative suppliers and sourcing opportunities to improve cost and availability.

Subcontract & Services Procurement

  • Manage procurement of subcontractors and specialist service providers where required.
  • Issue enquiries and obtain competitive quotations in coordination with Project and Commercial teams.
  • Evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on pricing, technical capability, programme, quality, and HSE requirements.
  • Support negotiations relating to scope, commercial terms, payment conditions, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
