Procurement Manager

I’m partnering with a large, complex organisation to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager into a broad and highly visible position.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for leading end-to-end procurement activity across a diverse portfolio of direct and indirect categories, including Technology, Facilities Management, HR, Marketing, Professional Services, Engineering, and operational spend.

Working closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams, you will act as a trusted commercial adviser, leading complex sourcing activity from initial strategy and market engagement through to tender, negotiation, contract award, and ongoing supplier management.

The role will include:

  • Developing and delivering category and procurement strategies across a broad portfolio of spend.
  • Leading complex end-to-end competitive and open tender processes.
  • Managing supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract award, and mobilisation.
  • Building strong relationships with senior operational and corporate stakeholders.
  • Providing commercial challenge and advice to ensure value for money and appropriate management of commercial risk.
  • Leading supplier and contract management, including performance reviews and KPI development.
  • Supporting the development and standardisation of contracts, SLAs, and commercial agreements.
  • Using market intelligence and benchmarking to identify savings, innovation, and opportunities for additional value.
  • Embedding ESG, sustainability, and social value considerations into procurement activity.
  • Ensuring robust procurement governance, audit trails, and legislative compliance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and ways of working.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
