I'm currently partnering with a leading global FMCG organisation that is going through a significant transformation of its Procurement function. As part of this growth, they are making multiple hires across Direct Procurement and Packaging at different levels, offering an excellent opportunity to join a business where Procurement is becoming increasingly strategic.
It's a particularly exciting time to join. Procurement is receiving significant investment and senior-level backing, with an experienced leadership team focused on developing capability, strengthening supplier partnerships and creating a more strategic, commercially driven function.
The business is also investing in technology, AI and data-led procurement, with ambitions to improve sourcing, supplier management and commercial decision-making.
These roles will manage strategically important categories across food commodities, ingredients, raw materials and packaging, providing exposure to complex supplier markets, high-value spend and categories that directly impact manufacturing operations and business performance.
You will have the opportunity to influence key business decisions, develop category strategies, drive innovation and sustainability, and build supplier relationships that deliver long-term commercial value.
Why consider these opportunities?
- Multiple opportunities across Direct Procurement and Packaging at different levels.
- Major investment and transformation within Procurement, with strong senior leadership backing.
- Technology, AI and data-led procurement forming part of the wider transformation agenda.
- High-profile strategic categories across food commodities, ingredients, raw materials and packaging.
- Strategic influence over sourcing decisions, supplier partnerships and commercial performance.

- People management opportunities within the more senior positions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
