Procurement Manager – Food Ingredients / Directs
Central London (2 days per week) - Up to £70,000
I’m partnering with a major business going through an exciting procurement transformation, led by an award-winning CPO who is building and developing a high-performing procurement function.
As part of this transformation, they are looking to hire a Procurement Manager specialising in direct procurement of food ingredients / commodities.
This isn’t purely a traditional category buying position. The role combines strategic food ingredient/commodity procurement with project-based work, giving you exposure to both day-to-day category ownership and wider transformation initiatives.
You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of ingredients, working across areas such as:

- Strategic sourcing and commodity buying of food ingredients
- Developing category and sourcing strategies
- Managing commodity and supplier risk across the supply chain
- Working closely with NPD teams on new products and innovation
- Leading value engineering and cost optimisation projects
- Supplier negotiations and relationship management
- Identifying opportunities to improve supplier performance and ways of working
- Partnering with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Technical, Finance and Sales & Marketing
- Supporting wider procurement transformation and improvement projects
Ideally, candidates will have:
- Experience in direct procurement / food ingredient or commodity buying
- Strong category management and strategic sourcing experience
- Exposure to NPD (New Product Development)
- Experience delivering procurement projects alongside category responsibilities
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
