Procurement Manager (Part-Time)

Location: Hybrid (UK-based) with occasional travel for supplier and business meetings

Hours: Part-Time (approximately 20 hours per week)

Working Pattern: Flexible days and hours to suit business needs and the successful candidate

Aion Silicon is a leading semiconductor design services company delivering complex silicon solutions to customers worldwide. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to support our commercial and supplier management activities across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional seeking flexibility while continuing to work on strategic procurement initiatives within a growing technology organisation.

The Role

Reporting into the Operations team, you will take ownership of procurement activities across the business, helping to drive cost efficiencies, strengthen supplier relationships, and ensure robust commercial governance.

This role would suit a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys working autonomously, influencing stakeholders, and balancing strategic planning with hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance and reduce costs.
  • Conduct market assessments and provide procurement insights to support decision-making.

Supplier Management

  • Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers across multiple categories.
  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and business partners.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and manage procurement-related risks.

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, statements of work, and supplier contracts.
  • Support contract renewals and supplier governance activities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure commercial terms meet business requirements.

Cost Management & Reporting

  • Deliver cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives.
  • Conduct benchmarking and commercial analysis.
  • Prepare procurement updates, supplier performance reports, and risk assessments for management.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Promote ethical sourcing and good procurement practice across the business.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings strong commercial awareness and a collaborative approach, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial management, or supply chain management.
  • Strong contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong financial and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working across multiple supplier categories and business functions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within technology, engineering, semiconductor, or related industries.
  • Experience procuring software, professional services, engineering tools, or cloud-based services.
  • Professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS.
