Procurement, University of Edinburgh (Finance Department)

Full time: 35 Hours per week

The Opportunity

We’re looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic procurement professional to join our award-winning procurement team.

Procurement at Edinburgh University has undergone a major transformation as we extended the scope of our influence and impact across our £1bn world-renowned organisation.

Our vision is “To become world class in everything we do, recognised as a trusted strategic partner in the successful delivery of the University’s Strategy 2030”.

To deliver on our commitments we are now looking for people who make things happen, who challenge the status quo, are excited about working in a diverse, dynamic environment and really want to make a change.

Edinburgh University is a world leader.

Be part of our new Procurement journey.

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join one of our 4 x Category Teams;

  • Laboratories, Medical & Veterinary Medical (Labs)
  • Estates and Facilities (Estates)
  • Information Services (IS)
  • Professional & Campus Services (PCS)

Reporting to the relevant Category Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the tendering, award and contract management of a range of procurement projects; as well as strategic initiatives stemming from market engagement and spend analyses. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the University’s financial wellbeing and international research profile, by delivering cash savings and other cost efficiencies; and supporting the knowledge creation and transfer which lies at the heart of the University’s Strategy 2030.

The post-holder will join a forward-thinking, ambitious and supportive procurement team, already well advanced in a service transformation programme. As part of the wider Finance Directorate, we aim to deliver world-class services to the University’s academic teaching and research staff and our professional services colleagues, in keeping with the institution’s Top-20 World Ranking.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
