Salary: Up to £56,000, depending on skills and experience + excellent benefits
Location: Swindon / London / Bristol – flexibility will be considered. You will be issued a travel pass to travel on the GWR Network.
Contract: Full-time, 18-month fixed-term contract

As well as electrifying our main routes, and upgrading key stations, we have carried out the biggest upgrade of trains in the country. The Procurement team have an essential role to play in the success of GWR through our strategic sourcing and our approach to supplier management.
About the job:
As a Procurement Manager, you will lead a diverse portfolio of procurement projects across multiple spend categories, including professional services, stationery, catering, cleaning, facilities services, and fuel.
You'll play a key role in supporting the procurement function throughout the organisation's transition to Public Ownership.
You'll be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with good interpersonal skills who can work both independently and within a wider multi-functional stakeholder team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Leading sourcing strategies and competitive, PA23-compliant tenders to deliver value for money
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to consolidate suppliers and rationalise contracts
- Supporting transition activities and complex regulated procurements
- Driving value through supplier relationship management and commercial negotiations

You'll need to have:
- MCIPS qualified or working towards, with previous experience in a public sector procurement role.
- Strong knowledge of PA23, Utilities Contracts Regulations, or Public Contracts Regulations, with practical experience managing compliant procurement activity.
- Proven end-to-end tender management experience, including drafting, issuing, and evaluating tenders within a regulated public sector environment.
- Experience in contract negotiation and management, with a good understanding of contract law and proven post-award contract management experience.
- Strong supplier relationship management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and practical experience of e-procurement systems and processes.
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities, with strong time-management skills and the ability to drive procurement projects forward.
- Strong analytical, data management, and reporting skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and Word, and the ability to provide clear and concise stakeholder updates.
