Location: Hybrid - Bolsover District Council, The Arc, High Street, Clowne, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. S43 4JY
Reference:
Salary: £41,177 - £46,579 per annum, pro rata
Job Term: Full Time
Appointment Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 Hours per week

About The Role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Public Procurement Officer to join our team. This newly created role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the effective, transparent, and compliant procurement of goods, services and works across the organisation.
As a Public Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes, supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, and ensuring adherence to public sector procurement legislation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver value for money and support the organisation’s operational and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement processes in line with public sector regulations and internal policies.
- Prepare tender documentation, manage competitive bidding processes, and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and provide expert guidance.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that support organisational objectives.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and contribute to reporting and audit requirements.
- Provide guidance and support training to internal teams on procurement best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices in procurement.

About You
- Proven experience in public procurement, ideally within a government or public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK public procurement legislation, including Public Contract Regulation 2015, Procurement Act 2023 and Public Contact Regulation 2024.
- Excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as CIPS (working towards) or equivalent are desirable.
Based at the Arc, High Street, Clowne.
