Procurement Officer - IT

Full time, Permanent
Location – Flexible (Ipswich, Selby, London, Glasgow)
Hybrid working with travel to an office location as and when required

About the role:

As a knowledgeable Procurement Professional, with some experience in a strategic role, you’ll need to thrive in a busy commercial environment. You'll build meaningful and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive procurement excellence at every stage of the process.

This is a fast-paced global role, which requires accuracy and working to tight deadlines. Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures will enable you to drive commercial success in your role while supporting in the delivery of the procurement strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement – IT, you’ll help us deliver our promise and ensure successful delivery of the overall procurement team goals. Day-to-day you'll be responsible for all aspects of the Source to Contract cycle while considering risk and cost, to the value of c.£1M annually, per procurement/project. You’ll also play a key role in supporting with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximise value whilst ensuring the right level of governance is applied. The role will mainly focus on indirect categories of spend in IT.

You’ll help us shape the future by working collaboratively with our internal colleagues, and business stakeholders to ensure procure to pay processes and policies are operating effectively to drive overall best value for Drax.

Drax is committed to developing its colleagues and in this procurement role we’d be happy to support World Contracting & Commerce certification (previously IACCM) or CIPS membership.

Who we’re looking for:

IT category experience is essential for this role so we’d love to speak with you if you’ve been looking after indirect categories of spend in IT in a similar role or previous role.

You’ll have a strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to ensure departmental policies and processes are followed.

The ability to provide prompt, efficient and personalised service to internal customers at all levels is imperative, to ensure that their needs are met, and productive relationships are built and maintained. You should also have the confidence to proactively challenge stakeholders and their requirements to drive the best outcome for Drax.

It is key that you are a self-starter with a ‘can do/will do’ attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment. The ability to identify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritise workload effectively is essential.

If you have CIPS/Project Management qualification that's great, however if you have demonstrable experience and strong performance in a similar role we'd love to hear from you!
