BACKGROUND TO DGP INTELSIUS

DGP Intelsius are a fast-growing, global company who specialise in designing, manufacturing and supplying temperature-controlled packaging and regulatory-compliant sample transport solutions. We aim to be recognised as a global leader, providing high-quality, environmentally safe, temperature-controlled and sample transport solutions to clients worldwide. On a day-to-day basis, our purpose is simple: To ensure our customers’ product and sample integrity with minimal environmental impact.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Due to a restructure within the Operations Department, we are seeking a Buyer to join our team. The role will support the Factory Manager and wider Operations Team by managing supplier performance, ensuring timely and complete supplier deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders. The postholder will liaise with Technical and Sales teams on new product development and sourcing, maintain and update the Approved Supplier List, benchmark suppliers to achieve best value for components and services, and lead supplier review processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage supplier performance
  • Lead supplier reviews
  • Sourcing for New Product Development
  • Benchmarking existing products and services
  • Review and maintain Approved Suppliers List
  • Indirect Purchasing
  • Open PO report & order expediting

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Desire to succeed in a sales-focused organisation
  • Must be able to accurately follow all company processes and procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy essential
  • Computer literate – Experience of Microsoft Office packages
  • A positive, focused individual who can work in collaboration with other people internally and externally with a polite, confident and friendly manner.
  • Good general education background with at least 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with SAGE 50 & Sage Manufacturing, or other order-processing software
  • Knowledge of logistics and transport
  • Knowledge of export & import procedures
  • Experience and confidence with interacting with customers by telephone
  • Knowledge of processing Business to Business Sales
  • Initiative and desire to improve situations, systems and processes
  • Adaptability
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • To enjoy working within a target-driven team environment
  • CIPS Level 4 or above, or equivalent

WORKING HOURS

  • 09.00 – 17.30, Monday to Friday
  • Some flexibility in working pattern may be available depending upon individual circumstances & business needs
