Procurement Specialist
Salary: Up to £49,000 + Excellent Benefits
Location: Crawley area. Hybrid Working (minimum 2 days per week in the office)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join an established public sector organisation based in West Sussex. You will play a key role in delivering compliant, value-driven procurement solutions across a range of service-based categories, including professional services, consultancy, and research & development spend.
In this position, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity, from initial market engagement and tender development through to contract award, supplier management, and contract renewal. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide expert procurement advice while ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced procurement professional looking to further develop their commercial, procurement, and stakeholder management expertise within a complex and highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle for a range of service-based contracts.
- Deliver sourcing activities including market engagement, tender preparation, supplier negotiations and contract award.
- Conduct commercial evaluations of supplier bids, assessing pricing, risk, contractual terms and overall value.
- Ensure procurement activity complies with the Procurement Act 2023, PCR 2015 where applicable, and internal governance requirements.
- Utilise public sector procurement frameworks and routes to market where appropriate.
- Support contract implementation, supplier performance management, renewals and change control activities.
- Provide procurement advice, guidance and best practice recommendations to stakeholders across the organisation.
- Review and negotiate contractual terms and conditions.
About You
- Demonstrable experience managing the full lifecycle of public sector procurement exercises is essential.
- Proven track record of delivering competitive tendering exercises and commercial evaluations.
- Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 / PCR 2015.
- MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS is desirable. Candidates with strong practical public sector procurement experience will also be considered.
- Experience managing suppliers, contracts, service levels and performance measures.
- Strong contract review and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational abilities.
