Procurement Specialist

Chelmsford – Onsite
£40,000-£45,000
Global Procurement / Strategic Sourcing / Product Development

I’m currently working with a leading international technology and manufacturing business who are looking to bring a Procurement Specialist into their growing procurement team.

You’ll play a key role in supporting new product development, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize costs, drive innovation and support successful product launches.

The role is based in Chelmsford and requires on-site working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage RfQs, supplier negotiations and supplier awarding.
  • Support cost estimation, cost control and cost optimization.
  • Implement global category strategies within product development.
  • Involve suppliers early to identify innovation opportunities.
  • Coordinate procurement scheduling and product launches.
  • Prepare supplier risk analyses and procurement documentation.
  • Maintain ERP master data and obtain material compliance certificates.
  • Report on sourcing activities and project KPIs.

Experience Required

  • Experience in manufacturing or technical purchasing.
  • Initial experience in international sourcing, supply chain management or product development.
  • Knowledge of strategic purchasing and forward sourcing.
  • Experience in project management, ideally within an agile environment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000
